Do I get any weighted points for courses that I take at a college?
Students will receive 1.0 point to their Forsyth GPA - Students will receive .5 point (up to a 4.0) to their HOPE GPA if class is HOPE eligible.
Will my student be responsible for the End of Course (EOC) exam?
No. If a student is in a Dual Enrollment course that requires an EOC for the high school level course (ex: Economics), they are no longer required to take the high school EOC.
What happens if I receive a “D” in my Dual Enrollment course?
You will receive a 70 on your high school transcript, and a 2.0 GPA for the course. No quality points will be given for classes resulting in a D. If you fail the course, you will receive a failing grade on your transcript.

No, please keep in mind attendance is imperative to your success. Colleges do not have the same days off that Forsyth County does. If FCHS is closed and college is not, you must attend your scheduled college classes.
Do out of state colleges accept Dual Enrollment credits?
That depends on the college and it is the student’s responsibility to verify with the out of state college if they will accept the Dual Enrollment courses the student is taking.
May I drop or withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course?
You MUST receive approval from your FCHS counselor to drop a course if it is during the college’s drop/add period at the beginning of the semester. BUT if it is after the drop/add period then documentation of a failing grade must be placed on the high school transcript if the student drops or withdraws from a Dual Enrollment course and their high school counselor determines they cannot provide an alternative option to complete the course during the semester.

Classes are a one-to-one switch. For example, if you take English 1101 at a college, this can count as 1 credit for language arts.
